28-yr-old man held a wk after killing woman in the Aravalis

Gurgaon: A 28-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday from the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) for allegedly killing a 32-year-old woman, whose body was found in the bushes near Chandrasekhar farmhouse in the Aravalis on Saturday.According to police, the accused, identified as Jeevan, is y from Madhya Pradesh and was residing in Badshapur village. The woman, Sukhi Bai Patel who was from Madhya Pradesh, was living at Badhshapur’s Indira colony. Interrogations revealed that Jeevan and Sukhi used to work as daily wage earners in the city, where they met and became acquaintances. On the night of January 7, Jeevan took Sukhi to the Aravalis on the pretext of showing her a temple. “After reaching a deserted spot, the accused tried to assault Sukhi physically. When she resisted, Jeevan got furious and allegedly bashed the deceased’s head and face with a stone to make it difficult to identify her,” said inspector Samer from Bhondsi police station. The police checked the CCTV camera installed near the pathway towards Aravalis, which shows both of them arriving at the spot but only Jeevan leaving after the incident. Police said her body was discovered by a group of four women who were collecting firewood in the area on Saturday morning. The women promptly informed a forest guard about the body.“The body was tucked away in the bushes. Her face and head showed signs of injury, likely caused by a stone. She was covered in blood, making recognition difficult. It seemed that the perpetrator deliberately used the stone to disfigure her face... I immediately informed my senior about the matter and he later advised me to report the case to the police,” said the guard, Pawan Bharadwaj, who then filed a complaint at Bhondsi police station.An autopsy was conducted, and the body was later identified by her family members. An FIR was registered under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (destruction of evidence) of the IPC on Saturday.
